Waterjet Lipo: How it works

Water-jet liposuction works by breaking apart existing fat cells, using water (well really tumescent fluids to decrease bleeding and provide pain relief) so that it can be reached easily removed with suction device during liposuction. The technique may allow to deliver a more precise and safer treatment, and has some validity for reducing the risk of developing unsightly cellulite.  The water is applie throughout the fatty tissue and breaks down the fat to a fluidity that can then be easily removed without the usual force need to remove fat in traditional liposuction. Then the very small cannula (3-4mm) are inserted safely under the skin’s surface so that the surgeon can maneuver around the fatty tissues with ease and allows less trauma to the surrounding tissues.

Water-jet liposuction is good for patients who need to remove largef fat but do not want to have dimpled skin after the procedure.  Since there is little trauma to the surrounding tissues, the skin has a better chance of healing and recovering quickly. The procedure does not require extensive anesthesia, and can be performed within a few hours and you can go home and rest comfortably.

The exciting thing is that by using less tumescent fluid, apart from being safer, there is less post procedure drainage. The traditional methods expect the patient to drain for 48 to 72 hours. With waterjet liposcution the drainage hardly ever last more than the follow daya fter surgery.
